Analogue revives Mega Sg and Super Nt: retro consoles are back
Analogue has announced updated versions of its Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+ consoles for Sega and Nintendo cartridges with modern enhancements. Here's what's new, how much it costs, and how to pay from abroad.
Analogue, known for its premium retro consoles, has announced the return of two models: the Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+. These are revised editions of its earlier Mega Sg and Super Nt machines, capable of playing original Sega and Nintendo cartridges with modern enhancements. The announcement came on October 16, 2026, but exact pricing and release date have not been revealed yet — keep an eye on the official website.
What are the Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+?
The Mega Sg+ is compatible with Sega Genesis, Mega Drive, and Master System cartridges. The Super Nt+ works with Super Nintendo and SNES cartridges. Both models feature "modern enhancements" such as HDMI output, digital audio and video, and likely other new features Analogue will detail later. The key point: they still let you use original cartridges, which matters to collectors and retro gaming fans.
Why it matters for buyers in CIS
Analogue's retro consoles are typically sold in limited batches and sell out fast. For buyers in Russia and CIS countries, the main hurdle is payment: the official Analogue store accepts foreign bank cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Russian cards don't work. A VirtCardPay virtual card issued in USD or EUR solves this — you can use it to pay on the Analogue website, just like any other overseas purchase.
How to pay with a virtual card
- Issue a card in the desired currency (USD/EUR) in your VirtCardPay account and top it up with a buffer — the console price is unknown, but previous models cost around $200.
- At checkout on Analogue's website, enter your virtual card details. Make sure the shipping country matches the one you used when registering the card (usually not critical, but some stores check).
- Confirm the payment. If the card is declined, check that online payments are enabled and that you have sufficient funds.
Potential issues and what to do
Analogue is a US company, so payment may require a US billing address. VirtCardPay virtual cards allow you to enter any address, including a US one, which improves the chance of a successful transaction. If the payment is rejected, contact VirtCardPay support — sometimes a retry or switching the card currency helps. Also note that direct shipping to Russia and CIS may not be available — you might need a forwarding service.
When will sales start?
Exact date and prices are not announced. Analogue usually opens pre-orders a few weeks before release. To stay in the loop, subscribe to the newsletter on the official website. We'll update this article as soon as more information is available.
Service, game, and franchise names are the property of their respective owners and are mentioned only to describe the payment scenario; VirtCardPay is not affiliated with them.
